Stevens Advantage Green & Sustainable
|
We believe in sustainable design practices and the use of products to create healthy buildings and minimize the impact on the environment. We believe that everyone involved in the building process should take an active role in implementing responsible consumption practices and advance sustainable building practices. We are dedicated to protecting the environment and the health and safety of our employees as well as the world around us, and our Environmental Policy Statement summarizes our commitment. We’ve also created an Environmental Impact Questionnaire to answer some frequently asked questions. Please read below for further Green attributes. VOC EmissionsStevens has been actively working to reduce any VOC content in our products, and are at near zero at this time. Stevens products fabricated from Melamine and HPL laminated panels contain no reportable amounts of the standard chemicals refered to under the VOC rules. This has been determined through the review of MSD (Material Safety Data) sheets for each of the components of the panels in general use at Stevens. Stevens testing by a third party conclusively shows formaldehyde emissions from our laminated panels in the 1 or less parts per million. The current standard for formaldehyde emissions is 3 PPM and all the wood particle board mills are targeting 2 PPM. 1 or less PPM is in the noise range of the current testing equipments ability to measure. The LEED ProgramThe Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. The LEED Rating System was created to transform the built environment to sustainability by providing the building industry with consistent, credible standards for what constitutes a green building. Our efforts to help you achieve LEED credits are summarized on our LEED Statement. Environmentally Preferable Product (EPP) Downstream Provider
